Wealth Inequality and Wealth Taxes in Ireland (infographics)

Oxfam Ireland's 2026 report on widening wealth inequality in Ireland charts a national problem of ever greater amounts of wealth falling into the hands of a few.
Importantly, it also foregrounds a clear solution: wealth taxes. Oxfam Ireland has researched and published models for a wealth tax at different rates to help redistribute wealth back into public hands.
Wealth inequality is a stark problem that is beginning to threaten the foundations of democratic society, yet wealth taxes can offer a powerful route to correction that civil society can mobilise behind.
