Dublin's Data Centres (Infographics)
06 April 2026
This year, we have worked on a series of infographics illustrating key trends in Ireland’s political economy. We were struck by research published this year by the progressive think tank, Tasc.
Research published by Tasc notes that data centre construction has been concentrated in Dublin's most disadvantaged communities. It is significant that Ireland's share of data centres is 10 times the European average, and that these centres are largely situated in some of Dublin's most economically deprived areas. This has implications for ecological impact, specifically the air quality experienced by inhabitants of these communities.
As such, we chose to produce these graphics to locate an intersection between climate and economic justice; the poorest in our society are left most exposed to the ecological disturbances caused by the pursuit of profit.
