Maeve Bateman (Director)
Maeve Bateman has worked on issues of social justice, both local and global, for more than ten years, with a particular focus on achieving economic and social rights and ending inequality. Prior to coming to DDCI she worked with Christian Aid's Middle East programme supporting civil society organisations to achieve their policy goals on issues including tax justice and employment rights. She has also worked with organisations including Christian Aid Ireland, Trocaire, and the United Nations in Ethiopia. She holds an undergraduate degree in history from Trinity College Dublin and an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Oxford.
Deirdre Kelly (Development Education Officer)
Deirdre has worked in global justice education for the past 6 years and joined the DDCI team in November 2016. Before this, she worked on various awareness-raising and campaigning projects in Ireland and India with organisations including Suas, Irish Aid, Comhlámh and Society of Labour and Development. Deirdre recently completed a Masters on Economics for Transition in Schumacher College and is interested in exploring new ways that we can organise the economy that put people and the planet first.
